BENGALURU: The city traffic police have warned a major traffic disruption around the city centre, including roads leading to Kempe Gowda bus station and city railway station in view of a huge protest march being taken to Freedom Park by residents of Kolar and Chikkaballapur districts on Saturday.
The protestors will seek government’s intervention to solve shortage of water for irrigation in the two districts which is facing acute water scarcity.
The motorists have been warned against reaching Anand Rao circle in Majestic area and to take alternate roads to proceed further. Those from west Bengaluru, may take the Platform road and reach Link Road in Sheshadripuram to take onward journey. The same route will also apply to those coming from Malleshwaram and Yeshwanthpur side.
Those coming from Mysore road may avoid Ananda Rao circle and may take Palace Road to reach areas in the east of the city. On the reverse direction those who wants to go south of Bengaluru may take Palace Road to reach Mysore Bank circle to drive towards south and east of Bengaluru, an official release said.
The traffic police said they expect that Sheshadri road that connects areas in East from West will witness traffic snarls in view of over 10,000 people arriving at Freedom Park in over 1000 vehicles to the venue of protest.
